All About Deanna
Deanna is a London based bassoonist and contrabassoonist who has
worked with a variety of orchestras including side-by-side with the London
Philharmonic Orchestra and the Women Of The World Orchestra under
Marin Alsop. She has also performed in many fully staged opera productions
including: Carmen (Bizet), La Traviata (Verdi) and Eugine Onegin
(Tchaikovsky). Deanna has experienced performing in a variety of venues
throughout the country including: the Royal Festival Hall, Leeds Town Hall
and St. Johns Smith Square. She has also toured parts of Europe including
Germany, Spain and Poland.
Originally from Leeds, Deanna began her musical studies on the clarinet
before taking up the bassoon.She was a member of the City Of Leeds Youth
Orchestra and it was during this time that Deanna discovered her passion
for orchestral playing. In her final year with this orchestra, she received the
Alice McGill award as well as performing the Weber bassoon concerto.
Deanna is currently studying for a BMus at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Phillip Turbett and Simon Estell. She has recently taken part in master classes with Alexandra Callanan and Andrea De Flammineis and she was a TCL scholar 2011-12.
In the coming months Deanna is looking forward to playing with the Vacation Chamber Orchestra as part of their Christmas course as well as taking part in the Harold Clarke Woodwind Competition.
